I would have thought there would have been more bidding against you in Bowling Green! Awesome. My last bid was $425 and I stopped. I didn't know what I was bidding for other than Featherweight and learned I had better study lots more.

I want a featherweight, but the only place I know to check is ebay and to make sure it's in good condition and runs wells, it cost quite a bit. $$$$!! I want a bargain like you found. Someday I might just find one!

Wonderful find, good for you. My mother had one and it sewed great and I let her give it to someone who cleaned her house once every other week, and have regreated every since. Will have to start looking for one to come up here, as they should in FL as the old folk pass and young don't want these things. So happy for you and enjoy. Carol

My Dh and I went to an auction this morning and found a 1961 Beige Featherweight 221J. Complete with instruction book, attachments and case with very few scratches on it. She has no noticeable scratches or anything. She purrs like a kitten! All this for $35.00. Color me HAPPY!...

Nice machine....never saw one that went that cheap at an auction but I don't go often. Love those Featherweights. I did find one at a garage sale a number of years ago for $15. It was tucked under a table in its black box. When I asked how much it was the lady said, " oh that old thing...you can have it for $15". I snapped it up and it had everything with it and was in beautiful shape including the scroll work, etc.
