I forgot to say that the edges of the blocks are all on the bias which often happens with the newer 'cut up' blocks. But still fun.

I absolutely love Missouri Quilt Company and the excellent videos. Each time I watch one I'm running to the sewing room to make a block out of "junk" fabric for a test block. Then I mount the block to thin cardboard (cereal box) and write up directions to put in a plastic sleeve for my binder. Of course I add the name of the bock and where it's from. Can't tell you how many hours this has saved me when making a quilt. Thanks for posting the link to Exploding Block!

I found that if you try to sew one finished magic square to another it's not easy (or not possible) to get nice matching intersections. Difficult to explain but try it and see. For that reason I prefer to use sashing between the blocks to disguise the inaccuracies.

If you really want precise points then the 'Economy Block' will give you those.

Here are pictures of 2 of my magic squares quilts. A 3rd picture won't upload. Pity as it was made of tiny starting squares about 2½" square.

I was wondering about trying to put them together, I tried and I will be using sashing also. I could not get them to line up accurately. Used Old Jack three times, lol....Sashing is in my future on this block. lol....and I want to add your Quilts are lovely.

I watched this, too, last night when I couldn't sleep. What a fun block and great look! She is so always so pleasant and so helpful and encouraging, like watching your best friend show you how to do something.

Yes Dorismary .... beautiful quilts!

I got the first round .... looks easy and fun to do .... but as to added rounds, I'm going to have to practice ... and practice ... and practice. I'm having difficulty wrapping my Sunday brain around that.
