I agree. The purple doesn't go, in my opinion. I can't suggest what I'd choose without seeing more of the pattern.

If you want it really bright and colorful, go with the purple as the white would just blend into the blocks. Like ManiacQuilter though, my first choice would be for a print with red and teal in it.

I love purple but also feel it doesn't really go, and I think the white would be too much white

Yellow is the triadic color wheel choice, that's why many feel purple "doesn't go".

Purple would not be my choice and I agree that a different pattern (texture) would really
enhance the blocks. Too much tone on tone dots
