my thoughts exactly. And use the crayon fabric for the back. Thank you for posting. I want to make one now. What size is the block for the point of the crayon?

Well, I may be weird, but I like the combination of red and the other border fabric.

I changed the original pattern width of my crayon segments to 2-1/2 X 5-1/2 so the crayon top has to finish at 5-1/2 inches (with the black edges on) in width to be sewn to the crayon body. Change the measurement to whatever you want your crayons to be.

If I were making this cute quilt I would use red and make it a narrow flange to stop the black center and then add a black border in whatever width you want but a bit wider would frame the center better than a narrow border. Love how this turned out so far.
peace

I like the idea of using the crayon fabric for the backing. If you were to use a border, try out a thin red border (.5in) then add a wider back border (2.5-3.0in)

I like the red border, and then bind it in black, or red border and binding.

I am glad to see this finished. I like the red border. But it will be nice no matter what border you choose.

If this was mine I would border in black so as not to detract from the crayons (which are nice and bright) then probably bind in the red fabric.

I personally do not like the little crayon border. I would keep it for another piece. I like the red border or the black border. They keep you eye on the fun crayons you created.
