Hello ladies! I missed swapping with ya'll! But i was smart to not go for it this Boom.. I lost a job, got a new job right away.. but it was in Hawaii! So... pack up 25 years in the house, toss out, donate, sell, or storage.. fly to Hawaii, find a place to live, fly home, pack some clothes (and FABRIC!) get the dog ready and.. move. Learn a brand new job, try to fit my life into a 11 x 15 studio apartment. (yep.. at $1225 month too!!) and, occasionally, snorkel! After 3 months, I am finally getting my sewing area squared away. Once I do that, I may join a Boom again. They are sooooo much fun and I see all the lovely blocks you have made for each other. I really love making the blocks to share with ya'll.
My house FINALLY sold this last week, done deal. Lost money on it. I will never own a house again. Besides, can't afford to buy here. So stress is dramatically reduced in my life and getting back to quilting will only help!
Hope all is well with ya'll.. I am going to go look through QB at all the quilting I have missed!

Good to hear from you, Bluelady. Glad your move went well. Were you allowed to bring your dog with you? When I lived in Hawaii (the 70's-80's) you were required to keep a dog in quarantine for 6 months in Hawaii before you could have them. Very, very hard on the dog, obviously.... I sure hope that's changed.

There is a 120 day quarantine BUT.. you can do the time over on the mainland.. it really isnt a quarantine and i had done it already, 2 rabies shots, a blood titre test and 120 days later, Hawaii will accept the dog. If you dont have the blood titre testing done yet, then yeah.. 120 days actual quarantine in their horrid animal facility. As an off chance that someday I might move here, I had it done already, about 2 years ago. Serendipity!

That's a lot better than it used to be. I don't think there has been an actual case of rabies break out in a dog in Hawaii in decades. What kind of doggie do you have?

SBG, fantastic quilts!! You turned Billi's quilt blocks into an amazing quilt! The setting w/sashing is perfect! You're an inspiration to me.

It's great to hear from you Bluelady. Glad you're all settled!! Enjoy the island!!
