It really is rather easy. I found the exact center of the quilt and drew around a thread spool to create a circle stopping short of making the circle complete. I then marked a gradual line that veered off the almost circle. Starting near that point I started stitching with my walking foot making a spiral. I used the edge of my walking foot to space the spiral. It gets easier as the spiral gets bigger. Keep going u til you run out of space, then fill in the corners. Jacqui Gering has a great class on Blueprint on walking foot quilting. Good luck. I love the texture and the way that the spiral contracts with strong straight lines in the piecing.
