You are right, it's one of John Kubinecs Quilt pattern. I have one of his books.

The red/ white Quilt Pattern comes from a Book: "A New Spin on Drunkard's Path" by John Kubiniec.
There was a similar or even the same one in a magazine way back ...McCall's Quilting, March/April 2013

Wow! These are so beautiful. All the curves in the second on do have the wow factor and the first on makes use of every piece. beautiful and well done.
