I finally got up the nerve to make McKenna Ryan's Home Tweet Home that I have had for years. The laser cut blocks were the way to go, however, I discovered I didn't order the entire kit so was left without sashing and border fabrics. I used the scraps from the umbre block backgrounds and combined them with a seafoam and lavender batik I found online. It worked and I like it better than her original! The difficulty was stitching all those tiny, tiny appliqued pieces down with invisible thread only to have a few "pop" off as soon as the larger Tiara size 14 needle hit them. Some weren't much bigger than the head of a pin! Quilting patterns are always a dilemma for me. Not only what to put where, but what can I do well enough. If I can draw it, I can usually quilt it, so that is what I did with a frixion pen, since this wall hanging can't really be washed. The embellishments like yarn for nesting, and beads for flower centers, and eyes were the finishing touch. It hangs proudly above my Tiara in my sewing room. Next on the agenda is something simpler with more immediate gratification LOL Hope you enjoy.

Don't know why this one is skewed except maybe when I resized it?

Great job on the quilting! Cute wallhanging, I have made a few of her patterns....lots of fiddly pieces but fun designs.

that is cute! And your quilting stitches are to die for. I have dreams that someday I'll be able to do that quality.
