I'm hoping I got these photos in the right place. Still not too sure about the process of uploading.

Welcome back Pennyhal!

In terms of quilt dating we say that they are only as old as the most recent fabric. I'm thinking those little rosebuds in the Pineapple type blocks are 1980s. Some of the fabrics appear earlier than that but may be repros/may be original.

Pretty sure the rose applique fabrics are 80s as well.

I read the headline and this immediately popped into my head....

"Hello there, you're a beautiful civil war repro aren't you? Come here often? Can I buy you a drink?"

Sorry, I've been cooped up inside because of wildfire smoke and am getting a little loopy. 🤣

Some of that fabric looks like the 80's but some looks a bit older.

Yes...we had a pair of appraisers come to our guild meeting a couple of years ago. They gave a great presentation and then did appraisals for anyone who wanted. i was fortunate to be one of the "helpers" for the appraisals and learned so much. I am in awe of what certified appraisers need to know before becoming certified. If I were 15 years younger I would enjoy becoming one and encourage anyone who enjoys history and fabric to pursue this.

I'm with you and IceB on the timing. And as IceB mentions, the newest fabrics in a quilt are clues to dating.
