Just want to share a quick pic of Carolina Chain hot off the sewing machine. Still have to trim dog ears and stay stitch the edges but it’s done. Woo hoo. Now it’s onto some Boom 21 blocks.

Janice - absolutely beautiful! Glad you have the time to work on these beautiful quilts. Hopefully you will keep this one!
I am mailing tomorrow - you should have received the information.

Thank you for your nice comments about the flimsy. It’s already on the growing pile to quilt.

TG, yes, I received your tracking info. Thanks!

I went digging through the stack of unfinished swap blocks and found a set from eons ago, not Boom blocks. Unfortunately while they are supposed to be 12 1/2 inches square, most are less than that, up to 3/8 of an inch short in one or both directions. They’re just way off. What would you do to make a quilt of them? Cut all down to the smallest, losing points, etc? Add different width sashings to compensate? Toss them? How would you handle this?

Janice, I would add sashing on two sides. Then trim. When putting it together the blocks are off set. Not sure that makes sense. Check the finished quilts!!

With blocks like those, I think I'd make a "frame" around each one... maybe 3" wide. Then cut down all the frames to the same size block. They may end up being 14" blocks by then... does that make sense?

Beautiful flimsy. Counts as a quilt in my book!
