Default Three Dudes quilt

I made this between making the Hearts of Hope and working on making Rhododendron Trail, both from Bonnie Hunter.
I thought it would be a fast simple project at my quilt retreat in Shipshewana, Indiana with Gay Bomers. My first mistake was not using a walking foot and then trying to square up the blocks after cutting them diagonally. All the edges of the blocks after cutting are on the bias. Nothing matched. I ditched the quilt and started RT instead. When I returned home and calmed down, I recut every block using a template that I had made with all the seams marked. That way I knew they would all align. Here is the finished top which is slightly smaller and finished at 55" sq. It will be backed with a medium blue Minkie and bound in black.

that is beautiful - and I can see how matching up all those lines would be difficult .love that you made a template with all the matching points on - great job

Oh, bias is very hard to work with. It seems to grow all by itself. You did a fabulous job on it.
