Wow! The koi living quarters have expanded. They went from apartment to "McMansion" after a long journey in a mini space. They must be either scared of all the room or off exploring their new world. What a lot of work! Glad you have the drive and expertise to move, build and remodel.

Recorded your received packages this morning on my list. Off to a good start.

Son sent my pictures of more packages. Here is the updated list. My son has a larger, weatherproof mailbox, so he does not always remember to check it every day.

LOL! I might be right next door this week, but I asked that they be mailed to GA. Gonna take a bit longer to get that far south.

DH and I are hoping to leave here the middle of next week and hope to be in GA for my Bday.

Safe travels to GA, Macybaby. I'm relieved my candies made it there.

Thanks for posting your updated list, Macybaby. I knew Gaijin got mine but I was starting to be concerned about yours. We have a cabin about an hour from your new home and mail can be a bit spotty there. Thanks!

I know it doesn't take much to make me smile but I am thrilled at all of the packages that are arriving and it isn't even May yet. Whoopdie-Doo!!

I wish I could record audio for all of you. The birds are happily red-winged black birds are calling back and forth, the sparrows are chipping and whistling, the frogs are croaking and singing. Then on top of that the thunder is rumbling in the distance. Last night the frogs were so loud I had to close the windows. What a shame because it was warm enough to sleep with them open and breezes whispering. Time for tea and another plunge into prepping my summer classes.

This seems to be a season of travel and or relocation for so many of us in this group. Interesting! When will we all get to sew again?

For fun, here are some pics of the new fish pond. A previous owner had started constructing a pond in this spot, they had put down cheap plastic that was brittle and falling into the hole. The area was very overgrown and even had some saplings growing. DH isn't that into landscaping . . . but he always liked the idea of a pond there.

Last fall we were down there for a few weeks and while DH and DS worked on getting the second and third rooms ready (one needed touchup, paint and new spray on ceiling and the other needed all new sheetrock on walls). I cleaned up the pond area and got most of the vegetable matter removed, and got the larger rocks out of the way. When we got down there early April I finished cleaning it up and ready to rebuild. The first pic is the original pond all cleaned up.

I had not realized how out of level it was, and as I started to build up the outer walls, discovered I needed to come up about 2', even with cutting down the high side about 8". That is when I decided the only way to make it work was to build a retaining wall. There will be a waterfall, and there is a shallow area that will be turned into a place for tadpoles and baby fish to hide. Eventually we'll build a deck with a lower level that overlooks the pond. I've had several smaller ponds, and always wanted a big one. I'll be looking for water hyacinth and water lettuce when we are back down there in another week.

The last picture is the view DS has from one of his security cameras. He put up a new camera so he could get this view.
