Simply incredible! Sure wish this show would go on the road and come to Calif. Would love to see some of them up closer. You took some fabulous pictures. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Does this remind anyone else of Times Square? I thought the stacked quilts looked like the tall buildings with all the lights. Then when I saw the exhibit was in NYC, it made sense. This is an amazing collection!

This has made me rethink two color quilts. Athough the feathered star with just a small touch of orange was fabulous!

it's in an armory on park avenue. the place itself is very old, from before 1900. the stonework and the woodwork in the building are outstanding. a beautiful setting for the quilts.

the room in which they hung was a drill hall, where troops practiced drilling maneuvers, so you know it was BIG. still, there was no way it could have held all these quilts hung the traditional way. looking up at them all, people kept bumping into one another and getting dizzy, but no one stopped. wherever you looked there was something lovely to see that you missed on the first go-round. i wish you all could see it. maybe it will tour and you'll all have the chance. she's willing to let it travel, it's a matter of setting the venues, according to the white-glove ladies.
it's also very costly to set up and i don't know if it would be free elsewhere.

looking at the photos, i see that it looks like no one was there, but in fact there were loads of people floating around.

Can't express how thankful I am that you took the time to not only take pictures of such an incredible quilt exhibit, but also the time to share with all of us! I had read articles but never dreamed would see so many great pictures of all those quilts. THANK YOU!!
