My chihuahua sleeps in my lap often when I am sewing. He also loves watching the needle going up and down.

My Bruno likes to catch me sewing so he can slouch over the back of my chair. He makes a real nice back warmer. He doesn't take it real well when I forget he is there, and try to stand up.

Don't have cats (or dogs) any more but DH has a cockatiel who loves to help when I have any hand work to do! I have since learned not to do anything that involves pins around him...he can whip them out faster than I can pick one up! So, no pins.
