Your photo looks so funny - big box, little item. After reading all the comments is seems that whatever is sent is a pig in a poke. I send small boxes (with a baby outfit) to France every now and then and it's $14.95 - the lowest, slowest price and it gets there in less than two weeks. That's USPS. UPS wanted to charge me $80.00 for the same thing. I think lots of things could be mailed in those document mailer envelopes or the bubble wrap envelopes that are free at the Post Office.

I agree shiping rates are high,But we must remember there are guide lines for shipping sharp items.A padded enevelope would have been fine for these needles if they were in a hard box, but most are in breakable plastic boxes,My brother is a postmaster and had a few to many scares.Because of a few people who want to provoke fear, we must all pay the price in every aspect of our lives.

My husband ran the box shop for a major beef packing plant. They had around 400 different products and the inventory just for packaging and shipping was over 2 million in vacuum bags, boxes and labels.
It's far more expensive to keep packaging for every possible variation of order than it is to stock a few standard sizes.
But WE pay the cost, not the company or am I missing something here?
