Try using the "wrong" side of the fabric. Sometimes it can be a bit lighter than the "right" side.

Thanks ladies. Having settled on the design I've begun cutting the fabric.

Maybe my next will be another variation since I can't really settle on the design cause I can see many variations - maybe that's what quilting is all about!

Fabrics already purchased. Thanks for the heads up!

I tried a pale green and didn't like it at all. The sashing has been the hardest thing for me to decide on. Thanks for your kind words.

Would love something of my own that is more flexible and would let me load the actual fabrics I am wanting to use to see exactly how it would look. Is there anything like that??
Played around in Adobe Photoshop - I have that on my computer since I'm a photographer. I had a look at Electric Quilt 7 the other evening, nice but I struggle along with PS for now.
Thanks for your kind words :)

I've done a little tweaking and will post the new "plan" after this message.

So you recommend a thorough dousing of starch - better put on my mask. hehe

WhiteTiger and GramaLaura - tell me what you think of the revised image. I'm gonna post it after this message.

I've tried to answer all questions. Sorry if I missed anyone. And thanks to everyone for your lovely words.

A slightly different treatment of the border. Stippling of the sashing will help to lighten it up!

I like the color combinations as you have them. Great job! I notice a small grid showing through & was wondering if some pieces are already quilted.
