GREAT JOB. I will have to show you mine, "when" I try the spray basting.
What kind of spray did you use again?
It's all new to me.......haha
Thanxs for the tip.

Thank you for appreciating the quilt. My primary purpose for posting these pictures was to encourage other quilters to try the spray basting. It is a great time saver but the biggest benefit is to save the knees and back. Also a huge benefit is a much better "fit" between the layers and no fighting the pins. Our standard of smoothness between the layers is much higher now, there is just so little problem with or acceptance of puckering and pleating.

Delilah, your Civil War quilt is absolutely amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your work with us - and also the "testimonial" for spray basting! I have been afraid to try it - but it certainly sounds good to me now! Which LQS had this for the BOM? Thank you again - I keep going back and admiring your beautiful quilt!

The LQS is here in OC in the shopping center at Valley View and Chapman. It's called Quilt Cupboard, they have a website and are doing another Civil War BOM this year (yes, I signed up for it). They are willing to mail the monthly kits for a small mailing fee. http://thequiltcupboard.com/

Delilah,

The quilt is stunning. I love spray basting too, but do mine on the wall. I am curious about basting on a bed though, especially since gravity sometimes works against me when I spread the fabric on the wall.

Do you first smooth out the backing on top of the flannel cover? Do you pin the 4 corners at all to make sure it's tight and smooth before spraying? Same with the batting layer - do you smooth it out and hold it with any pins to make sure there are no puckers?

Thanks for your help and sharing your pics!
