That's what I thought, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a dent in the stash cupboard!

And then I lucked out at a garage sale this past weekend....I got 18 yds of fabric for $5.00!!!!

It makes me feel good to hear things like this! I do not care for the traditional snowball layout, with white or nearly-white snowballs. I find it very boring. Somewhere along the line (probably on this board) I saw a snowball quilt done with colored snowballs, and it completely changed my viewpoint!

Thanks for the input on the quilting (and the nice remarks). Besides being undecided about the design, I didn't want to have to spend a ton of money on this quilt. I send my large quilts out ($$$); because I really don't like to struggle with the bulk under my sewing machine. I didn't have high hopes for this baby; and I have a very limited budget! I wish a longarm machine would fall off a truck in front of my house one day!

Perhaps you should put out the word that you are looking! Some of the quilters here have h-u-g-e stashes, and they must have something you are looking for! I can also look through the large scraps I have left, but they are smaller than 6.5" sqaure.

Cool! I don't know if I've ever been bookmarked before! And for a bunch of fabric with no future!

I love scrappy looks. What I especially like about this quilt is that it can be a "search and find" quilt for a child as well. For a small child, just fold in half. Very nice.

Yes, that's what we call an "I spy" quilt. A great idea.
