have you ever tried to sew with a cat on your lap

i can't think of anything i haven't done with a cat or a dog on or plastered against me. one cat was crazy about going for rides in the car. we often had to go through a tunnel, and he could tell from 2 miles away. he would dig his claws into my shoulders and his head on my head, would yowl bloody murder until we were through. sewing is a family affair. simon, cat, sits either on wip or cutting board. tiger, cat, lies on the back of my chair, kitten, dog, sits on my foot or sleeps between me and the iron. monkey, dog, guards the door so we aren't interrupted. the door is like 4 feet away, so as usual, i am covered in fur of the best kind--live. :). i haven't gone to the bathroom alone since hi school. even baths have observers, dishes i get help, see what i mean? i'm sure others have the same life story. and it's good! just to answer the original question, i did try to sew with a cat but i couldn't get it through the eye of the needle. oh, well...

It doesn't help he is one of those slinky cats. You know the ones. They are so soft that they just slip right through your hands. Every time I press the foot peddle he starts to slide. Wouldn't be bad but he has claws. ouch!!
