    I love old quilts like this -- and when you think of the time involved in making them, it makes them all the more special. I have a similar one that my great-grandmother and grandmother pieced.

    You should have it appraised. A good appraiser can probably put a pretty close date to it.

    The placement of those 9-Patch squares provides an orderliness to this quilt that gives it Dignity, beyond simply being a scrappy onepatch. A wonderful gift.

    I will never understand why family members don't see the value in preserving their own history!
