Boy you certainly know how to inspire someone. Thanks for sharing.

I have this huge box of scrapes that I need to use up. I have never made a random or scrappy quilt and I'm afraid it will look stupid when I'm done. So I have been collecting scraps for a while and they are now to the point that I really need to do something with them. I'm thinking about trying a quilt as you go and just pull out pieces and sew with no order in mind. Again, this is not something I have ever done so I will have to close my eyes and just go for it.

By the way, you and hubby are doing great, keep up the great work.

Great quilts, purse and apron. Are your scraps almost gone?

    Hi Andie,

We're in South Chandler, just above Sun Lakes. Great to meet you.

Yes, we used to have fabric fights. But we have rules now. :)

He once got into some special hand-dyes and sliced half of them to shreds while I was at work....I almost wanted to cry. Another time he cut up about 1/3 of a yard that I needed to finish a baby quilt. The last time he sliced up what was going to be binding on a king size quilt!

It goes both ways tho.....He's crazy about Jinny Beyer fabrics and I made the mistake of cutting into a big purple piece that he claimed was in his stash. Oh the horrors!

Now we always consult with each other before cutting into a big piece. And no more taking for granted that all pieces smaller than 1/2 yard are scraps. He knows that if it's not in his scrap bag we need to talk first.

Without this fabric etiquette somebody could get hurt since us quilters have sharp objects and we know how to use them. :)

I posted a few quilts earlier in the week that were mine. I'll post a few more soon.

Thanks for your nice comments....hope to meet you one day.

    Mary

Your DH is very creative and has good vision of the combo of fabrics and the overall outcome. It's wonderful when you and your DH have a wonderful hobby to share. He sure can't complain about all the fabric in your stash this way....LOL Thanks again for sharing your DH work. When do we get to see some of your work Mary???
