The sectional quilting gave me a couple new problems but overall so far it seems easier for me than doing it all in one large piece. I have a pucker or two I have opted to keep rather than unsew, but the sectional thing seems to keep the puckers from getting bigger and bigger as I sew. That's a good thing! :D
Some pics of finding my way thru the process:

Once the center panel was done, the rest was definitely easier to quilt. Handling the weight was and is still an issue for me. I use the puddle method as much as I can but there's no avoiding manhandling the bulk.

oops, froggy time, rethreading solved the problem

Next I will quilt the second side panel then it's time to work on the top and bottom sections.
I have to piece the backing as well as add the panels for the top and bottom. I delayed doing the piecing till necessary to reduce the bulk I had to handle in the mean time. This quilt is definitely the largest I have made so far.

Nothing to post for today. 5 min. into my quilting of side section 2, I put the machine needle thru the side of my finger and my reflexive action of jerking away tore the needle right thru tthe skin from the edge of my nail out.
Luckily no blood on the quilt. Sure bent the heck out of that needle tho. Hopefully I'll be back to quilting soon.

Looking great...your sectional idea seems to be working out well. Hope you recover from the finger injury soon. Love where you placed the cat too...just the right spot.

Finally able to sew again, Yayyyyyyy!!
I finished quilting the center and side sections. I used the quarter inch outline to just hold things together and highlight the shapes.
