When men get around to quilting, they are most often very very good quilters!
Also, they often break the rules, and invent some interesting designs...

( remember most of the classical artists were men.)

I wanted a bright/scrappy stop border, DH didn't like, thought a neutral brown-ish would be better.....okay. Not thrilled with the brown, but it is what I had in my stash. The purpose of this quilt was to use stash only because I am going to use my HQ and practice. I will post final picture after quilting (I think).

mine inputs unsolicited advice/help at times too...sometimes i listen...times i don't [he has extreme poor sense of color..lollol] but being an engineer he insists that random is not a choice...so of course i ignore that completely. i love that he loves my quilting and supports it so enthusiasticly...he is a treasure :)
Have you ever shown him pics of quilts made by men, featured in some of the quilting magazines? And give him some finished blocks to assemble for you = 12 blue and white, or red and white 9 patches...promise him a pie or "you know what" if he will do it!

I used to go sailing with a curmudgeon who was partly deaf. After he wrecked his second sailboat, he retired to the state of Washington, where he used to go to the senior center or some place ladies made quilts, and he would beg them to let him tie the quilts for them, because he just loved to tie knots! He tied lots and lots of quilts, this grumpy oldster!
    see, miracles do happen! Jeannie
