Mine... I took a class from Brenda Papadakis when she was in Wisconsin. We worked on about 5 blocks... I have almost the first row done!!!! and... it's been years. I still want to finish mine, and photos like yours really inspire me. Thank you so much for sharing!!
I signed up for a class from Brenda several years ago. I sent in the money, made my reservations for a motel. Not sure how I figured it out before I drove up for the class, but I was a week late. The class was the week before. Boy, was I ever mad at myself! I am doing the Quilted Diamonds which is a cousin of the Dear Jane. The blocks are 4x6 inch diamonds instead of squares.

[quote=Janstar]Hudgoddess, I didn't keep track of the hours I worked on it but I will tell you some of the blocks take longer than others. I just bought fats and eights of fabric because some of the blocks don't take alot. I did stay with the original colors as close as possible and we had a plan to follow to start and stay on schdule. Look under the BOM at the bottom of the page and you will find tons of info. All the gals that are making one are very helpful and supportive too.
    Thankyou for the comments![/quote
The quilted diamonds quilt that I have started but have not worked on for a few years...it is tedious like the Dear Jane. I have kept track of the amount of time, the amount of blocks and what was going on when I was sewing each block. Anxious to get started on it again. This quilt has inspired me again. It is fabulous, isn't it?

Dotha, I saw the quilted diamonds picture and it is beautiful. It looks tough but after doing Jane, anything is possible! Am I wrong?

Also after talking to Lacelady I recounted my pieces and the total is 5141. I didn't count the sashings.

The quilted diamonds are the same as the Dear Jane only stretched into a diamond rather than a square. It would not be any harder, I don't suppose, than the Dear Jane. I enjoyed doing it when I was working on it. Not sure what happened but I have put it away and have not made a block in a long time.

I am in the huge process of mucking out my sewing room that had become impossible to work in. I have new storage and new paint job in there so I am excited to get going again. Still in the process of sorting, destashing, debooking etc. My QDiamonds are stored in a tub right now but hopefully they will be uncovered soon. I refolded, fondled and put away all of my beautiful Christmas pieces today. Can't wait to get it all put away so I can SEW again.

I wish you would do the QD's with me. that would be fun. I was hoping to find a Quilted Diamond group on here but have not found anyone else so far. You are a Janiac, I like to call myself 'Diamond Lil'. After your great accomplishment, I could not blame you if you did not want to tackle something so tedious as the QDiamonds.

Thank you for your great inspiration of posting your Dear Jane quilt. My hat is definitely off to you. Good to talk to you. Thanks again for sharing and inspiring.

Good for you Jan - it sounds so much more impressive when you say 'Well over 5000' doesn't it?
