I have been sewing since I was a teen. I did my first quilt 6 years ago. It was a photo quilt and a photo wall hanging for guests to sign for my granddaughter's high school graduation. Since then, I have made quilts and wall hangings for 3 more grandchildren and several more for relatives and friends. Recently finished a block in a block and another very colorful quilt for my niece's mother. There are 3 more in the planning stage. I turned 71 in April and I only have 6 more grandkids to go!

DM and I started together. I think I was about forty, so she was about sixty. We are still poking along, twenty years later.

I started about 4 years ago with a wall art quilt. Then I took a class and made a sampler lap quilt. My favorite is art quilts but somehow I ended up in the process of making a king size quilt for my granddaughter. I am 72 and loving it. I used to make fabric dolls.

I started purchasing quilting books, notions, fabric before I retired and I was just a few months short of my 60th. I had my 67th B'D this past March.

WOW I guess 60 is the new 40....so many quilters in my age bracket. I started in mid-sixties after having done just about every craft including saddle making thru my early life. Treated myself to a beginning quilt piecing class after retirement and the rest is history. I am hooked. Happy quilting to all of you youngsters out there!

I did .I started after my husband died 10 years ago .Quilting filled my days became my passion and joy .I have met wonderful people some of whom have become great friends .my work is NEVER perfect but as I give most quilts to the hospice i doubt if the quilt police are around .I care that the recipants get comfort from them and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making and giving them .I count myself lucky as yet I don`t need one .Thank the lord.

I'm 68 also and started quilting 4 years ago. I started with a simple sampler of 12 blocks. It's wonky in some parts but it hangs in my home anyway. I've really enjoyed the journey and it's not over yet.

I also started at 60. Looking forward to retiring so I will have more time for my new hobby. Starting with little projects like table runners because of limited time. This still gives me practice with out the commitment of time. Love quilting wish I had started sooner!
