I got one years ago and after it took us one entire day to put it together (paid over $600 for it) got the pantograms, and all, I was so excited, too. I worked on it one day--am not talented art wise and so I tried the pantograms, (or whatever they are called) and was a failure on them, too, put it into the cellar and there it is. I live in PA---can't be bothered spending all the practice time needed on it. My DD would like to have it so I guess that is where it will end up. She is artistically talented--I have to have everything the same and nothing came out alike for me--size wise and nice and clear--I have points where curves should be, etc. etc. etc. Good luck--just remember, Practice, Practice, Practice. I even purchased a new Janome to use with it. If you know anyone interested, I would sell it for a cheap price if my DD doesn't decide she has to have it. lol---I know you will do well. Gotta have patience, which I do not have--I want to be able to do it right off the bat.

Your hubby is a keeper. He did a wonderful job helping you create a setup in your budget. And the machine is awesome. I hope you have a blast quilting your quilts.

You have a wonderful husband. Congratulations on your setup! That's wonderful! My husband always had that kind of inventiveness. I daresay, had he survived, we would have created something similar. He was a tremendous woodworker -- he could make just about anything he set his mind to (improper grammar, I Know!). I am so happy for you!

    terribb,

My husband (before he passed away 11 years ago) built me a hand-quilting frame from a Hinterberg Kit (I think that's the name -- now the one I have is only large enough for a twin-size (maximum size) but it could be enlarged! He made it so I could do a baby quilt for my niece who had a particularly rough time of it. And, I did make the quilt. It was a Sunbonnet Sue applique, of course, all hand quilted, and for my first one, I was really proud of it!
