How about whites, reds, & blues? Just got back from a vacation in Italy, long planned and quite amazing.
No quilts, but lots of ideas.

I'm thinking red, white and black, but it will probably end up being a prayer quilt and I'm wondering if that would be too dramatic. I need to decide so I can get caught up and be ready for next week.

Hi Dotty, been awhile. You lucky lady going to Italy. I think red, white and blue and red, white and black would be pretty. Even though I don't know what the final quilt pattern is. lol.

Chasezzz, wow, I’m jealous of your inspiration fabric & those beautiful fabrics you picked. As Carol said, it should be a striking quilt. I’m excited for the the clue.
If anyone wants to look into a way of making HST’s 8 at a time by using a larger square that gets cut down, look up the “Magic 8” method. The best way I found it was to go to Craftsy & use their search for the free pattern where each have charts, not just the math. There are 2, but the second one that comes up by “laugh yourself into stitches” has a little extra info to help if you have problems trimming to just the right size & recommends adding a 1/4” to your larger squares for that easier trimming. Remember if you use the charts for our HST’s look for the 3 1/2” trimmed sized not finished size. Ours will eventually finish out at 3” once sewn in the mystery quilt. It had been so long since I’d done HST’s that I had to go find a reference & I wish I’d found this one first instead of doing them all one at a time.

Nummy, I will sneak to the goodies late tonight.
It always appears to be my best time to sew, no distractions!

The idea of apple and cranberry pie squares led me to make an apple cranberry cobbler. I left some in the dining car--enjoy.

Oh Angelia those sound really good. I made my husband apple crisp.I'm diabetic and try my best not to cheat.I worked on my hst's today and made most of them and trimmed them. Just need to make about a dozen or so more. Here are a few of mine that I trimmed. I never liked making these thanks to Judy always using them I finally don't mind. I made mine using the 4"squares drawing a diagonal line and sewing on each side. then cutting in half and having 2 hst's made. I always need the extra wiggle room. lol. I have the print out to make more at a time but I'm afraid I will make them wrong and wanted to use my little scraps up. Wow I sure am windy tonight. Have a good evening everyone.

You all have made such great hsts on this first leg of Judy’s mystery. I love seeing all the different fabrics . I usually lean to scrappy. It’s a bit weird that this time I’m going from yardage. I guess that just adds to the mystery for me.
I can’t wait to see how all our colour combinations turn out.

This is so much fun! Thanks to Judy for her skill and willingness to do these mysteries but also to all who participate and share their ideas.

Not very organized, but here are my HST's. Thank goodness for rotating cutting mats and 3 1/2" square rulers!

Very pretty HSTs are being shown.

I used only one neutral because I am trying to use up that fabric. Lol!
