    The symbols were all hand sashiko, I embroidered? them on the muslin and thru to the batting then attached the backing as a quilt as you go so on the back it is 1 black square and then 1 of the asian print. thanks, everybody, I enjoyed doing this one and am as pleased as I ever get with my own quilts.

    Wonderful quilt. Your hand embroidered sashiko is striking on this and offset the asian print lanterns perfectly. Great job!!

    It's lovely. My grandson is marrying an Asian young lady next month. A similar quilt would perfect for them.
