Temperature change can cause extremities to itch. Change in blood flow, which can cause temperature change, can cause itchiness, too.

Of course, my mom always said you were coming into money when your hand was itching. I would think lotion would help - winter usually drys out our skin - so a nice lotion usually helps. If not, benadryl but the benadryl will make you sleepy.

Is it supposed to be your hand or the palm of your hand?
What I've heard, right palm itch, means receiving money. Left palm itch, you will be losing money, too add more, it's been said to spit on your palm and scratch it on wood for more money......the last time I had my palm itch, I just ignored it.

Please don't let this go. See your doctor.

My grandaughter has baby Eczema and we use Aquaphor on her. It costs about $8 but moisturizes the skin nicely. She is putting her hands in her mouth a lot now so it is still good as it won't hurt you to put it in your mouth. I put it on her two or three times a day just to keep her moist. I agree with dewie45 though..... see a doctor before trying anything. It could be seasonal or not.

Carpal tunnel will give one that sensation. My mom's hands itched all the time and that's what it was. I have CT also but hands will tingle and feel swollen but not look swollen. I can't bend my fingers when it gets bad, they actually act like they are swollen. I had the surgery in '04 and it failed. Get it checked because waiting WILL cause him to loose the strength in his hands.

My hands itch on occasion, due to something in a cleaning product that doesn't agree with me. I usually stick to the same product to avoid this. Have you tried any of the Aveeno products, we bought some yesterday works great.

As for the whining, either plug your ears or take some antihistamine. LOL
