I have a Christmas one that I use on my LR coffee table during the holidays. I'm planning to make another now for a more year-round purpose. I usually leave that table uncovered but when folks are over for coffee and cake, etc. it saves the hassle of coasters and the like and I don't make myself crazy thinking about the wood being scratched!

My mom always had one on her dining room table,,,was first thing you saw when walking in front door..she used a cheap $1.00 clear shower curtain liner to cover quilt when we ate in dining room for holidays and get-togethers, Plus helped keep table from piling up because wanted to 'showoff' newest quilt.

What great ideas - makes me think! I have an antique round dining table and would love to make a quilt tablecloth for it, rather than usual tablecloth - maybe just back it but no filling??? at the least a very thin filling like flannel.

My Quilting buddy has a small kitchen table with 2 fold up leaves--enough for 2 people with leaves down--pushed against the wall. She puts a small quilt on top of it, then covers with clear vinyl plastic. She changes it seasonally or whenever she feels like it. I'm always checking to see what's on her table.

This is on my (long) list of projects. I have a wood table in my kitchen. I had a piece of glass cut to protect the top, but I want to make a Christmas quilted tablecloth. I'll put it under the glass. I was planning on just lining it, no batting, but haven't decided yet.

I love using my quilts for a tablecloth and also table toppers. When I wash it, I put on a different one. I have them for holidays and the seasons. People really take notice and a couple of my friends started quilting so they could have one for their table :D :D
