It's always a big let down when family leaves us but you weren't clear about why they left. Are they gone from you forever, or will they be back? May in Jersey

Sorry, I just read about your situation, no wonder you're feeling so hurt and sad. Prayers that they will be OK.

There is hope! The bond remains and is just as special as he grows up. I had my DGS Jake from the time he was 8 mos until he started preschool. I had him 10 hr days 6 days a week. It was like having another child of my own. When mu DIL told me she was taking him to her cousin 3 days aweek so he could go to preschool it broke my heart! I still had him two days a week for another year and then only on weekends. Jake is 12 now and he is just as strongly bonded to me as he was as a little boy.

You have laid the basis for a really strong unbreakable bond. You might think about asking if you could have them for a whole day now and then. I am sure his mom would love to have a free day to do things she needs or wants to do.

These were my foster boys that I had for almost 2 years. We had hoped to adopt them, but that isn't going to happen now. They know that I love them and they love me and I will always consider them my sons. I knew when I started this journey that there was a possibility that I wouldn't be able to keep them, but I had hoped that we could be there forever home. I am very sad, but I am also thankful that I was able to have them for the two years that I did. That I could give them my love. My life has been so blessed to have had them. And I know that one day they will be back.
