Hi there and welcome from Florida. You might want to check your local quilt shop and see if they are offering any quilting classes. I also checked a lot of books out at our library. You might want to start on something kinda easy to start with, maybe a 4 patch. Good luck. There is a wealth of information on this site. If you get stumped just ask for help. :):):)

Welcome from the southern pqrt of Minnesota.The nice thing is you have much time on your side to try alot of different ways.You are starting at a good age so your skills will grow with you. I have done alot of hand sewing but have been only working on the quilt projects for a short amount of time.I used to live in Jersey and always love the amish products so that was my first bug. Hope to hear from you often and enjoy taking the venture with you.
