Ours is coming back TOO!!!!! The fabric department has been gone for several years since their "remodel" There was an ad in our local paper yesterday asking for part-time night time workers to stock the fabric department! WOOOHOOOO!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!. Its so about time. Our Walmart still has the fabric department. I had signed the petitions, emailed and complained at the walmart website. I am very glad, I love Walmart fabric.

I love that our walmart has always had a fabric department. Problem is, the fabric is jammed in shelves so tight, and with only the end of the bolts showing, so it is not a very friendly, happy place to go shopping for fabric. Almost impossible to see the fabric. I only go near it if I am very desperate and have a lot of patience. Virg

We have several Walmarts in town here - which is kind of nice especially if you are looking for something and one store is out...
The one closest to my house is just about finished with their remodel. The fabric department is gone and the *fabric* department now is one aisle of 2 yard cuts, packaged and hanging. They are $7.96 each.... there is an area with jelly rolls and charm packs but that's about it.

If they are bringing fabric back, it isn't in mine. The other stores that have not as nice fabric departments have theirs. Ours was a great department - and it is just now gone. It closed down this spring.

I don't think it is across the board that the fabric departments are coming back. Maybe a select few will get them but why would they take it out only to put it back in?

Also... the next closest Walmart to me has a nice fabric department. I spoke with the woman yesterday and asked when they would go away. She said they are on a day by day basis right now. The plan was to do away with the fabric department and expand their foods with produce and whatnot... which I have to agree is a great idea for them. They are not a super Walmart but I'll be sad when they go - they were the second best, now best fabric department in my town. :'(

I'm so happy for those that do get fabric back but I hope it isn't just the hanging poor selection that they have in my store after their remodel.
