    Thank you so much for the pics. I didn't know that you are supposed to leave 1/4" of the batting and backing. May i ask what the reason is pls????? :oops: :oops: :oops:

    Good question. I have been taught to do it this way. I used to cut my layers even but when you fold over the binding for the final stitching, if there is no filler, the binding that is showing becomes flat. I will ask others for explanations. I bet it is on the internet somewhere. If you find the answer, let me know. ;)

    Lizzy, that probably is the reason - I know I like the fluffyness/fullness/softness all the way to the edge of a quilt :lol:
