    When my neighbor gave me one she called it a Blood Lily. Searched it and says it is in the amaryllis family!

    That makes sense. The flower looks like an allium, but the leaves don't. The alliums have pointy leaves like a tulip, onion, daffodil, etc and these are rounded.
