I made quilts for my God daughter's two little ones and she keeps putting them away so they don't get ruined. I have had to promise I will make new ones if they love them to pieces to convince her to let them be lovees like I intended. So I vote use but not dragging through the mud.

What more could a quilter want! A quilt that gets taken to priceless family moments.

How's that any different than a picnic quilt? I think it's great they thought to grab it!

i think it's AWESOME! if they love it enough to take it with them when out and about how great that is!

i am a firm believer that it is ok to use your quilt any way YOU want. it's yours- regardless of how you came about owning it-
and i do not believe ANYONE has the right to jump on someone else about how they use what belongs TO THEM.

I have one I take to the beach or the park for the little ones to sit on. It comes to no harm and is always given a good shake before packing up so that there are no unwanted visitors left on it

And the award for best use of a quilt in a family situation goes to...

The quilt is clearly near and dear to this family. What could be better?

I'm happy when I see the quilts I made being used. Mine aren't for the closet or Sunday only.
Nor are they for the dog only. If the recipient wants to share with the dog that's OK by me.
