Try joining the homequiltingsystems group on Yahoo for lots of information. The rule-of-thumb advice there is to spend a year thoroughly researching longarm setups before actually buying one. A number of people there admit they spent a lot of $$$ and then were so intimidated by the setup they had trouble forcing themselves to try it out.
