I have heard you can make your own stamping (design) with Mrs. Stewart's laundry bluing. and when you wash it it will wash out.

But I do NOT know this for fact. You might want to try it out before you do a whole quilt

I have made my own for years. you can find iron on stamp patterns at wal-mart, jo-anns, hobby-lobby. they so have cross stitch pattern. I makeing the state brid now that I cut 10x10 peices and iron on the birds. do the something with state flowers that I send up to my mom for her to work on. I have done baby quilts with thing stitch from a coloring book.

I am working on a wedding ring quilt. I bought it at Ben Franklin. It is 6-18" squares. You can go on their site www.jdneedleart.com. Hope this helps.

Be careful. I used to use the stamped on patterns years ago--many many years ago, and the design didn't wash off. I hope they have improved their dye. The patterns were from both companies mentioned.

The new ones will wash out but the blue from long ago is another story.

Vinegar rubbed on with a soft toothbrush is supposed to get rid of the blue from temporary marking pens after all else fails. Might be worth trying on the old blue stamp.
