coffee cozies if they use styrafoam cups. lap robes for those in chairs. we made them about 18x26; just enough to keep their laps from a chill. walker bags. believe it or not-sleep hats. folks told us their heads were chilly at nite. score keeping tablets. not quilting but they love to play cards
    lots of good ideas here

What about the fabric photo boards? The kind with the ribbons that criss cross on them? I am sure most of them probably have family photos. If you made them on the foam board that they sell at the $ store they would be lightweight and inexpensive to make.
here is a link to one on youtube...

The walker caddys are really easy to make out of a place mat. You can buy them at the $ store. Then just use matching strips of fabric for the ties.
You just fold it in half upto with about an inch from the end then sew the ties onto that inch section (we sewed 4 evenly spaced strips) then sew divided sections in the bottom part from bottom to the top edge. They can be different sizes. To hold eye glasses, an ink pen, a small book or even a bottle of water. My DD made these and we sold them at a craft fair. They are quick and easy to do.

Also a case to hold eye glasses would be good too.

Fabric book marks. Hats, weather is getting cooler. Very nice of you to make items for them.

Scarfs are easy and will help to keep you warm at the same time. Cut a strip of fleece about 8" wide at the botton make a fringe. And you are done.

When I visited my Aunt in the nursing home she always had something hidden in her hand .... ?
These would make a cute gift for the ladies to keep their "treasures" in.
I like the idea of walker bags and hankies too.
Maybe fleece caps for the gents.
