Our JoAnns has a lot of novelty flannel and a lot of fleece. Do you have a Joann's near you, if not, did you check JA online? The stores online that quilt members have posted are great places.

Default Cotton and Flannel Rag quilt

I recently made this rag quilt and I used cotton for the front and I used flannel for the batting and the backing. I cut the flannel for the backing and the batting the same size as the front squares. I used a dark blue for the batting and golden yellow for the backing. I purchased all the University of Michigan fabrics at different places such as Walmart, Joann's and Hancock's. The flannel is plain and I got both colors at Joann's. It was the nicer flannel and it has washed up wonderfully!
