    What a great block! Would be nice on it's own as you mentioned for a pillow ... or used as a centre piece of a quilt, with blocks around it.

    Are all the horses in the patterns as large? .... are there any smaller ones?

    You did a good job with that. If I had made the one you have, I might make a tote with it.

    A friend's 4 YO daughter wanted a version of that block in pinks and purples. I enlarged it so that the one block made a drag around quilt for her. To my surprise, when they entered it in a quilt show, it took a ribbon. Not every pattern has to be used the way it was intended.
