Im a new quilter getting better but not perfect. I think I sew too fast and veer off to the left by a thread or too. I need to slow down to get a straighter line.

I sew straight and fairly fast. I don't pin either. But then I've been sewing on a machine since I was 8 or so.

I always sew straight. I find it easy for some reason. Never needed to use the seam ripper so I threw it away a few years back. ...hang on, Elvis and Johnny Cash are knocking on the door again. Maybe they can help me get rid of the aliens who crash landed in my garden, they're eating me out of house and home!

I cant sew a straight 1/4 inch seam to save my life..
I cant make a perfect point...
I cant make all my seams nestle perfectly against each other...
    But
I CAN make a quilt that will wrap someone in warmth..
I CAN make a quilt to show that they are loved
I CAN make a quilt to hug them when I am not around..

I'm very consistent......consistently wobbly, no matter how I try to sew. It all works out fine in the end. Have become the master of fudging things. I quit beating myself up about it long ago and just enjoy the process.

Sometimes I amaze myself with my almost perfectly straight seams. Notice the almost in that sentence?

I think only in quilt heaven are the seams straight! We can only strive to achieve. I try to measure and trim every step so I am not that far off at the end. But I do wonder, how can such a small difference add up to so much at the end?
