    No, not hard, but very very messy! It was all 100% cotton so there wasn't a problem with pressing and inadvertently melting it, which might happen with acetate velvet. But oh BOY did it shed little bits!! And my carpet is dove grey so every little speck showed beautifully...Also it didn't really want to slide for the FMQ, so I had to wrestle a bit. I think that would have been greatly minimized with one of those extra-slippery sheets you can get for your work surface, and if I had been using grippy gloves, or cut-off exercise bands for handling.

    I would happily work with velvet again, but I'll have to find another duvet cover reduced by 80% to afford it...

    I never would have thought to back a quilt with velvet. I bet it's soft and warm!
