I usually get between $350-400 depending on how big and how many shirts. I supply the backing and the batting for that price.

I would like to thank each one of you for your thoughts and advise. We went shopping today and bought all the supplies to get started. My friend told me today that she had a quote from someone on Etsy and they wanted $350 and that included everything....other than the t-shirts that she had to mail to her. Supplies today (she paid for those) ran about $140.00. (gotta love those Joann coupons) She has 16 t-shirts....(now the issue we have super small t's and large t's...some of the large t's designs won't support the 12 1/2" square, UGH!) I'm thinking probably $200-$250???

Go pick up a copy of the current "Quilts and more" magazine. In the bottom right hand corner it talks about an article for Easy t-shirt quilts. Page 65 has a great lay-out plan to make a quilt with a variety of t-shirt design sizes. Interesting to hear that your fabric and supplies ran $140. If anyone ever raises their brow about what I charge to make a quilt, I usually tell them that it cost me about $120 just to gather all of the fabric, batting, backing and iron on fusing. Once I tell them that, they are more than happy to pay me $320 to make the whole quilt. Good luck to you! Be sure to post some pictures when you're done.

Will definitely be heading out the grab Quilts & more magazine....thinking it will HUGE help in the layout since there will be a few various sizes. :-) Thank you so much for that tip PlanoDebbie!! I agree that people just don't realize just how much supplies cost for a quilt. That goes for clothes making as well. I love to make my grandaughter dresses, etc..one of my daughters friends wanted to know what I would charge to make her daughter some dresses and my daughter told her it would be cheaper for her to find them on sale. That some of the dresses I make for my GD run me close to $25-30. (but for me it's not the cost..it is the love--and when my GD calls me and tells me she LOVES her new beautiful dresses..that is worth a MILLION dollars!!) I will make sure to post pics...excited to get started...but will have to wait until next week...heading out for one last camping trip on Thursday. Poconos should be beautiful. Again a big Thanks to all who have helped. Have a great day!!
