It does look like bowtie with four put together. I wonder if it has a secondary name.

It is a traditionally pieced Bowtie top with lots of the dreaded Y seams. Very pretty top!

It is just an old fashioned bowtie that the maker chose to do a little different setting with. Great find!

Here's the same block done without the Y seams.
You can make the measurements anything you wish.

Another scrappy! Such a sweet old quilt top with an interesting setting... First I thought it was a snowball, but you ladies are right about it being a bowtie set differently.. Adorable!
