Welcome to Tricia and Hummingbird from Washington State. Don't be afraid to try new things. Buy some inexpensive fabric and just go for it. If you don't like what you've done, see if your local animal shelter accepts blankets for the animals. If you haven't spent a lot of money, it's much easier to take chances. The worst that will happen is that you won't like what you've done. What will happen for sure, is that you will learn something. Be bold!! Have fun!!!

I now do all my blocks PP. It takes practice, practice but you'll get there. I tend to even look at traditional patterns & think "I could do this PP" so I draw up a pattern...
