I don't know how you can say that is only two ingredients. The boxed mix contains (lower quality) versions of everything in your from scratch cake. I can't understand why you don't just make your from scratch cake with less sugar and some pumpkin?

Sorry, just makes no sense to me.

I think the Hungry Girl recipes may be the choice. I bought the Hungry Girl to the Max cookbook. I made the brownie recipe first of course. LOL. It's very good and much better then depriving myself of a piece of my favorite from scratch cake. Only two ingredients, do not add anything else.

    One box chocolate cake mix
1 can 15 oz pure pumpkin (not pie mix)

Stir until smooth, may take several minutes. Scoop into muffin tin lined with muffin papers. Bake 20 min at 400 degrees. She notes the aluminium muffin papers will not stick to the food as much as the paper ones.

My vet told me to give my dog a bit of pure canned pumpkin every day instead of a bought treat. He said it was very healthy for her and she will love it so I have canned pumpkin in the pantry all the time.

I could make from scratch but I've been baking and cooking from scratch all my adult life. I'm tired of it. I don't mind at all using pre packaged cake mix instead of measuring out all the ingredients. I have lost 6 1/2 lbs so far using the recipes for half my meals and my desserts. The tofu shirataki noodles are strange to me but DH likes them! We love pasta and these noodles are 20 calories for whole 12 oz package! By using the recipes along with my own recipes I am reducing calories and not feel like I'm dieting.
