I don't want to sound stupid here but sometimes I put the walking foot on the machine and in my haste I forget to place the clamp over the needle bar. The machine still stitches, but the walking foot is not engaged. Sometimes it makes a terrific racket, but other times it just doesn't walk. Is it possible that's what happened?
