A quilted casserole carrier
#11
The pattern says:
outside fabric, 24"
inside fabric, 21"
heat-resistant fabric (special batting), 21"
They folded the outside fabric over, mitered the corner and used that as the binding.
STRAPS
fabric strip for inside - 27" x 4". They said to turn under 1/2" on each end and sew on....I found that too long, so I folded more than that.
2 3 1/2" x 4" pieces for the D-ring loops.
the straps are 4" wide, folded with right side in, 1/4" seam, then turned inside out.
Does this make sense???????? LOL. e-mail me if not.

I assume you can carry a round or square casserole with this but can it handle the ever-popular 9 x 13? I had cut this pattern out and misplaced it so I am so glad you posted the picture and then the instructions. I wanted to make some for our church auction. Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone!
Babe -- I tried a 9x13 -- it's just a tad too big. Would be interesting to try lengthening the strap in the middle....letting it have a bigger loop. Might even try with a larger pieces to begin with (27" instead of 24"???)
