How about a churn block or hole in the barn door block with the kid print in the middle - another idea is a chevron quilt.

Me and My Sister authors/pattern designers at the Quilt Market last weekend showed a simple but striking pattern that would work really well with that fabric. They basically left the novelty print as a wholecloth panel, and made simple 4 patch blocks as a border surrounding the novelty print. It was a darling quilt, and makes the most of the fun fabric without cutting it all up into choppy parts of cute kids. Unless you're willing to fussy cut or use very large blocks, that fabric is going to end up with a lot of partial bodies and headless kiddos.

I like RST's suggestion. My first thought was Warm Wishes. I have some of that same fabric but have not decided what to do with it.

Warm Wishes...fussy cut.

Or snowball alternated with 9 patch. Use the focal fabric for the snowball and 9 patch in red and blue. The corners of the snowball will connect to the 9 patch and form an overall chain.

this is a quick quilt. Can make a small one in a weekend
This is my suggestion too. You don't want the focus fabric too small and WW would keep it a good size. Be sure to post pics of your quilt!

I love this idea! Glad I wasn't the only one to think of the poor headless kiddos!!

What about something like Attic Windows with two edges blue and two edges red? Then you could use larger panels of the focus fabric without losing too many heads.
